I’ve been doing a little research on marketing with Google+ and here’s my epiphany. “It’s not a social network. It’s an SEO machine.”

If you set yourself up correctly, your content will be found because Google+ is part of your SEO equation. It doesn’t matter how many people are in Google+ or how much time they spend on it. If you ignore marketing on Google+ or if you don’t set yourself up correctly, you won’t show up in normal Google search results. For people who care about getting found, and gaining influence or leads, marketing on Google+ is the name of the game.

Here’s one key article that shows how this works.
